I have used a Lucas oil product Slick Mist for several years with good success.

Yeah that! And the guy before you probably used it to clean mud out of his wheel wells.

Using the gas station windshield scrubber is really taking a chance (IMHO) that the sponge scrubber won't have any sand or dirt particles in it and going against your windshield. The wet towel has always worked for me.

^^Yep. As I mentioned in post #3(?), it's the simplest, cheapest, very effective, way to clean bugs - plus it's harmless to my paint or chrome

Carry used Bounce sheets in a baggie. Moisten at a rest stop and it cleans any and all bugs off and here in FL lovebugs are out and my TG looks nasty but a swipe on paint or chrome and bugs are history. Make sure to use 'used' bounce sheets!

Not cheap but the best for your windshield and helmet visor. Also works well to shed rain water.

In addition to my windshield, I also use Plexus on my ragtop car's plastic rear window.

Damp used Bounce sheets. Cleans paint, windshield and chrome. Bugs just wipe off. And free if you or your partner use Bounce sheets. Just be sure they are USED! I keep a dozen in a baggie. Dampen one at your gas stop and you have one sparkling TG.
