1983 flht upgrade
Im removing and storing the original shovel motor in my flht and fitting a 93 s&s shovel motor. Is there any chance of a later model gearbox and primary fitting? Id like to get away from the original older style starter but I think I’d have to use a splined instead of tapered gearbox to do that? Maybe theres a simpler answer? Cheers...

You might consider contacting Baker. They may have some ideas that would work for you, at least ideas of a direction you could go with your bike.

That's a better possibility. I suggest you also ask in the Evo section, where there are plenty of our experts on the older models. All twincam transmissions bolt up to the engine in a different way to Evos and shovels.
