Angry High shipping cost for Freedom Shields

Freedom Shields charges $30 for shipping 5lb in a cardboard box to Ohio. I would like to try their wider touring shield but will stick with the 4 LRS shields I currently have.

I have been on the fence about a new windshield.
The top of the stock one on my 12 UC is right in my line of sight.
My biggest concern about an aftermarket one is that I don't want to increase the buffering for my wife.
Has anyone had any problems with this?

I just installed a Freedom Wide shield last night and I am EXTREMELY impressed with it! Optically correct with no distortion and thick! The polished edge is sexy! I should have called and gotten a bit shorter shield because I used the same measurements as my last cheap shield and it is taller! I am keeping it for 2 up and **** weather or longer trips and I am ordering another tonight 4 inches shorter for when I am riding alone!

I have read that calling them and you will get an extremely personalized attention and more then likely the right size the first time. I was impatient and ignored what just about everyone who has purchased Freedom shields had said about calling and impulse purchased mine.

They offer free returns but shipping can get stupid. I have a collection of cheap shields that are going to my local INDY for someone in bad shape to get and spending the money for a better product.

Recently ordered mine and should be arriving next week. I called before ordering and went over my measurements. Ended up getting 1inch shorter that I originally would have ordered. They are extremely helpful.

When I ordered mine online, I noticed the purchase page had lost it's 'secure' setting. I emailed them and within 15 minutes, John emailed me back and said he would look into it. About 15 minutes from that, John replied back that he had gotten with their website host and the problem was fixed and thanked me for bringing it to their attention. Great customer service!

I have 2 LRS shields that I have been happy with. Having said that, I have not had to contact them for any issues, so I have no experience with their customer service.
My next shield I am considering Freedom Shields because of all of the positive reviews.
