Default Is MOCO Extended Warranty Worth buying

Wanted to find out from you guys if you feel the Extended Warranty is worth it. Just picked up my first HD bike 2019 SGS and wanted to see what kind of reliability I should expect. I’m over 60 so won’t be riding it hard but riding for enjoyment. If I should expect things to happen related to reliability, then maybe I should pickup the Extended Warranty.

Let me know what you think.

Current HD reliability = abysmal. Laughable.

The real question is "Do you want to add mods or not?"

Yes = forget extended warranty (the mods might/could/will/likely/maybe void it)
No = grab Ext warranty (you'll likely need it)

i have mods and 5 year unlimited miles extended warranty....never questioned, though they are minor mods except for the tuner. IMO, the extended warranty is worth it. But....if you have a lemon, the warranty will pay only up to the value of the bike, though that's rare...just saying. I've had two compensators replaced, new clutch and a few other minor components. Mainly, it's peace of mind after the OEM warranty expires. If you don't plan on keeping the bike that long, then no, it's not worth it.

I also have the tire and wheel warranty and that is well worth it. Already hit a pothole, bent the rim and got a new wheel and tire and have had two tires replaced due to nails.

Only worth it if you plan on putting on the miles within the years of the warranty. In my case I got it and had warranty issues in first couple years that others had in 4-5 year at similar mileage. warranties play the odds of running out before being needed.

All the extended warranty is is an insurance policy. You're gambling on your bike breaking down after the factory warranty expires. Whoever you're buying it from is gambling it won't. If you know anything about insurance you know the odds are in their favor.
Since the m8s are known to have some occasional significant issues I'd certainly consider gambling on it.
As to mods you might make, do some research and determine what you can and cannot do to stay in the much stricter guidelines since the 17s came out.
For my bike the warranty more than paid for itself since the crank spun and HD rebuilt it with a much stronger welded and tried crank.
Your results may vary.

are you going to ride 2000 or 20000 miles a year ?
if its 20k i think it might be worth it
only insure what you can not afford to replace like health or liability insurance IMHO

no... tempting tho huh ? on a new bike we just think protection... however the odds say any major problem will show itself within the first year or 2.... maintain it well, skip the extended, it'll be ok

there's nothing that says that you can't ride the bike as is for the first 2 years and then decide whether or not to the the esp near the end of the factory warranty time. true, you won't really be saving any money doing it that way, but you'll certainly have a 'feel' for if you think your bike is going to need it or not.
