Default Voltage regulator

Has anyone ever had an issue with the voltage meter jumping from 14 amps to 12 and then back again? I have changed the stater, regulator (twice) and battery. I have checked all the wiring, No breaks or cracks) disconnected all my after market lights, stereo, and so on, but the problem persists. Any ideas?
Thanks

What are you testing it with?
Do you mean volts?

Without being there and babysitting-
They are not using the bike gauge are they? !!!
Go buy a multimeter (under 16 bucks )
And put it across you battery and see for yourself.
If you are actually jumping back and fourth I would be surprised as electronic reg are faster then lightning.
Do that then then post what you get.

Not sure what bike you have, but I did experience something similar on my '14 SG just recently. Ended up being the DC Lead Connector on the bottom of the Regulator was intermittently making/breaking connection. The little plastic connector keeper was loose. Anyhow, the Volt Meter, yes...... the one on the bike....... would go back and forth between 14V and 12V, then it stayed at 12.....then 11...... then 10. Got me home, trouble shot the connector, got a brand new battery under warranty, all is good.

Voltage regulators frequently become intermittent before total failure. If you can eliminate the stator and wiring, that is about all that is left.

what year and model? there was a recall on volt regs years back on the touring line. my 12 Ultra got one when mine failed. Volt meter would hop around on the gauge.

I had this same issue, but both the regulator and stator were Cycle Electric's. I found the issue to be one broken cable between the stator and the voltage regulator. I was cleaning the bike and saw the one broken wire out of the three. I re-soldered the cable, and everything is rock solid at 14.2 at cruising speed afterwards. No more weird fluctuations from 14.2 to 12 after this. I hope your issue is simple like mine.

Maybe recheck the actual cable itself between the stator and regulator?
