Tie Downs
I am taking my bike (Ultra) on a trailer for a rather long road trip. This is myfirst experience using a trailerand need advice on tie downs.I am looking at the Powertye 2-inch for the front and the 1.5-inch in the back. Do I need a 2-inch for the front or can I go with the 1.5-inch at all four corners? I know, "Why trailer, bikes are made to drive, etc." Appreciate help from those who know.
I trailer mine often, as I bring my bike to job sites in my trailer so I can ride the bike back and forth instead of using the truck. I have a removeable wheel chock, and I use soft straps and 1.5" tie downs on all 4 corners. If you are not using a chock you may need more, but this setup has worked well for me for many trailerings.
This was just discussed. Check out this thread: https://www.hdforums.com/m_1840397/tm.htm
I use 1.5" ratchet type and I DO NOT tie off from the handle bars.

I agree with SOOS. I have a Bike pro Chock and tie with soft ties and rachets. Use passenger floor board. And use front crash bars. Trailered from Indiana to Fla and back didn't move a inch.
