FYI - If you have the Owners Manual... go to the last page and tear out the Credit Card size thingy, fill it out and put it in your wallet. It has the PIN and instructions AND the Transport Mode instructions. If you trailer your bike or need a roadside tow and you have the security system you will kill your battery and I have read about others who had to replace the ECU ($$$$) because the whole time the bike was being towed the alarm was triggered, lights flashing even worse siren screaming.

Credit Card PIN and Transport info in your wallet
First time I towed mine, lights kept flashing. Didn't have the manual on me, so I just put my FOB in the side case.

Replaced the FOB battery. All is good once again. However, I am unable to perform the PIN# bypass or reset my PIN#. I'll stop by the dealer and show they what I have tried. Hopefully they can help me to correct the PIN# thing. Thanks everyone for your responses and suggestions. I'll be keeping a spare battery for the FOB on the bike now.

one very important thing to note. if you are trying to start your bike using the override code, don't have the fob right there with you. make sure the fob is out of range. if you are trying to change your pin, then the fob must be in range and recognized to do so.

maybe I missed it but did you verify the PIN that is presently stored. if you have a working FOB you can pull it up.
Turn the ignition on, off, on, off then on. Press the left turn signal three times then the right once. stored code will appear.

I created a personal pin when I received my bike, I then put the instructions for using it and also how to place the bike into transport mode into my Cellphone so I have it with me at all times.

I then also placed a spare battery for both the Key fob and the Alarm pager in the trunk so I no longer have to worry about having them.

After buying the shop manual and realizing I wasn't going to carry it with me at all times I put a PDF copy on my cell phone and in the tablet I carry when traveling as well.

Keep in mind the process is slightly different between Pre-Rushmore and Rushmore bikes.

jwg_fltrxs has a Rushmore model (2015), so the procedure you list is slightly different.

For Rushmore models (2014 and up):

I have tested the following multiple times on my 2015 without any issues.

Using the Security Alarm PIN Override (2014 and up Rushmore bikes)

1. Turn the IGN key to IGNITION (ENTER PIN will be displayed in odometer window)
2. Press and release the left turn signal switch. (In the odometer window, a flashing 1 will appear.)
3. Enter the first digit of your PIN by pressing the left turn signal switch (x) times (whatever the first PIN number digit is)
4. Press the right turn signal switch 1 time to move to the next digit. 5. Enter the second digit of your PIN by pressing the left turn signal switch (x) times (whatever the 2nd digit is)
6. Press the right turn signal switch 1 time to move to the next digit.
7. Enter the third digit of your PIN by pressing the left turn signal switch (x) times (whatever the 3rd digit is)
8. Press the right turn signal switch 1 time to move to the next digit.
9. Enter the forth digit of your PIN by pressing the left turn signal switch (x) times (whatever the 4th digit is)
10. Press the right turn signal switch 1 time to move to the next digit.
11. Enter the fifth digit of your PIN by pressing the left turn signal switch (x) times (whatever the 5th digit is)
12. Press the right turn signal switch one time and the security system alarm is turned off.
The bike should start now.

To Change PIN Number for 2014+ “Rushmore” bikes

1. Select a 5-digit (1 thru 9) PIN and write it down
2. With an assigned fob present, turn the OFF/RUN switch to OFF
3. Turn the ignition switch to IGN
4. Cycle the OFF/RUN switch: RUN - OFF - RUN - OFF - RUN
5. Press left turn signal switch 2 times (ENTER PIN will scroll through the odometer window)
6. Press the right turn signal switch 1 time and release (Turn signals will flash 3 times and Current PIN will appear in odometer. First digit will be flashing)
7. Enter first digit of new PIN by pressing left turn signal switch “a” times (a = 1st digit of new PIN)
8. Press right turn signal switch 1 time and release (New digit “a” will replace the current in odometer window)
9. Enter 2nd digit of new PIN by pressing left turn signal switch “b” times (b = 2nd digit of new PIN)
10. Press right turn signal switch 1 time and release (New digit “b” will replace the current in odometer window)
11. Enter 3rd digit of new PIN by pressing left turn signal switch “c” times (c = 3rd digit of new PIN)
12. Press right turn signal switch 1 time and release (New digit “c” will replace the current in odometer window)
13. Enter 4th digit of new PIN by pressing left turn signal switch “d” times (d = 4th digit of new PIN)
14. Press right turn signal switch 1 time and release (New digit “d” will replace the current in odometer window)
15. Enter 5th digit of new PIN by pressing left turn signal switch “e” times (e= 5th digit of new PIN)
16. Press right turn signal switch 1 time and release (New digit “e” will replace the current in odometer window)
17. Turn the OFF/RUN switch to Off, then turn Ignition key to OFF. (Pushing the OFF/RUN switch to OFF stores the new PIN in the module)

thanks Skratch. Tried all variations with the PIN# on my owner's card. No dice. I'll talk with the dealer soon.

Press Left turn 3x? My manual says 2x. Maybe that's my whole problem.
