Use caution with the adhesive mounts. Friend almost lost his camera using one. We were on a ride last month and when he went to mount his camera the mount just broke free from the fairing. It had been on his bike for quite awhile, exactly how long I don't know. But apparently the glue gets brittle and loses it's stick. If using the adhesive mounts it is probably a good idea to replace them on a regular basis.

Cameras are suppose to be tethered to the vehicle no matter the mount. They all fail from time to time, especially the suction cup style.

I have the RICKRAK mount that attaches to the windshield trim using the existing bold holes. Have had it a year and it works great

Evidently, the GoPro brand suction mount [NOT some third-party facsimile] is tenacious as hell. My buddy attached one to the fuselage of his single-engine plane and videoed a quick take off and landing. He may not have gotten up to cruise speed, but almost certainly reached 90 mph at some point between take off and landing.

Thumbs up

I wouldn't use either a suction mount or self adhesive patch to fasten anything to my bike, just not secure enough IMHO, especially for anything expensive. I do like rfulford's solutions, neat and unobtrusive.
