I had white, switch to black simply as stated with others at night or early morning difficult to read the gauges.

This is exactly why I switched to the CVO style gauges. The Limited version had an outer band that was silver, the numbers were italic. Had a hard time seeing just during the daytime. I have no issues with the CVO version, love them. When and if I ever trade up to a M8, they're going with me.

I agree, except for taking the gauges with me. It is my understanding that the speedo is married to the VIN# after 31 miles. I need some clarification on this matter please?

Appreciate the feedback on this … regardless, I'll confirm with another bike when I'm in the front fairing again and let you know. The forum is great source of information I respect everyone's input but I've already seen from a couple issues it's not gospel, IMHO sometimes people just repeat what they've read as if they're subject matter experts.
