I had white, switch to black simply as stated with others at night or early morning difficult to read the gauges.
This is exactly why I switched to the CVO style gauges. The Limited version had an outer band that was silver, the numbers were italic. Had a hard time seeing just during the daytime. I have no issues with the CVO version, love them. When and if I ever trade up to a M8, they're going with me.

I agree, except for taking the gauges with me. It is my understanding that the speedo is married to the VIN# after 31 miles. I need some clarification on this matter please?

Appreciate the feedback on this regardless, I'll confirm with another bike when I'm in the front fairing again and let you know. The forum is great source of information I respect everyone's input but I've already seen from a couple issues it's not gospel, IMHO sometimes people just repeat what they've read as if they're subject matter experts.
