At least the MGB canister allowed the the oil to drain before you had to remove the assembly. My 86 Buick 4 cylinder had a filter that went into the oil pan and the 4" diameter cover was the drain and retained the filter. Every oil change had oil everywhere.

Regarding toilet paper filters, I'm old enough to remember when they were a craze.

Toilet paper was and is designed to dissolve in water. I understand the differences between oil and water, but I doubt that filtration is a consideration of TP manufacturers.

TriGeezer, Yes you can if but you have to use a Rubber as a relief valve.
