Lots of mixed reviews on the lowering blocks,
La Choppers makes lowering blocks that keep the same shock angle. Seems like that might be the best option if I go that route.

To be honest dropping $700 or $800 on shocks right now is going to be tough. Ididnt realize shocks were so expensive but I need to do something. I feel like I'm reaching for the ground. Jeans kinda tighten up on my thighs at a stop due to the seat/leg stretching position.

Its not a lowdown seat. I got it from a member for a good price (thanks) so I grabbed it.
Not looking for new Frankenstein boots

The blocks seem to fit the bill perfectly except now I need to be concerned with bike damage.

Saw some 944UL's in the classified section that might do the trick.

I put in 1" lower HD premium single cartridge in the front when I went chrome lower forks, then I got some 12" HD premium hand adjustable shocks, narrow primary cover, Tamarack lower blocks and 14 RK CVO seat. I am way down. Only drawback is under a hard hit like a pot hole, at some point, the plastic cover on the left shock got scraped by the belt. I am taking the lower blocks off and I think I will have it plenty low.

Most bang for the buck will probably be to have the seat altered. There is a company by me (MKS Upholstery) that's been doing it for years and they do beautiful work. Most shops like MKS will narrow the front of the seat a little bit so that your legs are closer together, making it easier to reach the ground. They can also add foam or gel inserts to move you forward if necessary, all without making the seat less comfortable. Most shops charge $200-250 for this sort of work. That way you'll still retain the ride quality and handling of a 13" shock, the comfort of the seat, and be able to plant a foot or both at a stop.

Should have gotten a solo seat from C&C. It is narrower, lower, and is VERY comfortable. Choice of many materials, stitching, colors, etc, plus matching passenger pads.

I just bought a set of these. For a whopping $12 its worth seeing how the bike feels keeping the stock 13" shocks. The $12 makes me a tad nervous but over 1000 sold and solid reviews puts me at ease a bit.
Videos and some reading makes it seem like a pretty simple project

Ive looked at these also but most of them state they will not work with factory air shocks which my 2012 RG Ultra has. Is there any alternative to lowering about 1" without changing shocks or potentially damaging the bike?

You can lower the front end, shorter rear shocks and some engineer boots have a high heel.

This is Bitchinbaggers.com site, but now it's just numbers. Call them to make sure they are still in business. But they will lower your existing air shocks to wherever you want them for a lot less than new shocks. They do great work, if they are still in business.
