Default Rear bumper eliminator bracket question

I removed the rear bumper on my 2008 FLHTCU about 1,500 miles ago using a bumper eliminator bracket. When I installed it there didn't appear to be any issues and there was an equal distance on both side between the tire and the corner of the bracket. I had the bike upright on a stand at the time which is where I normally park it at night. Tonight I was tooling around and had the bike on the kickstand when I filled up the tires and noticed the tire was extremely close to the bracket on the right side. When I stand the bike upright the distance evens back out. There isn't any wear on the tire from where it would be touching so I dont think it's been an issue this far, however this is pretty concerning none-the-less. Is this amount of play normal in the rear end of these touring bikes w the full tour packs? I ride w a passenger fairly regularly and I can't say I take it easy on the bike when I'm by myself. Now that I'm freaked out I'm hoping you guys can give me a little insight before I put the stock rear bumper back on. I attached some quick pics I snapped to give you guys a visual. I can take some more in the morning if need be.

6ft T (straightedge) or use a fluorescent tube. Check alignment of back wheel to front.
The bracket looks lopsided to the fender, looks like it's shifted to the left (marks on bracket)

Makes a lot of sense. 45k miles on the bike, shes probably due anyway but are there any other tell tale signs without pulling the bearings out first? I really appreciate the input.

in the picture she's sitting on the kickstand which is when this issue is noted. When she's straight up on the center stand everything is lined up... but I will still double check with your method. Thanks.

I would also check swing arm bushings but I think you would feel that kind of slop if it was the axle bearings or swing arm while you were riding. Maybe check the fender mounts. Something is definitely moving.
