Any air filter you get will out breath your engine and it is just what look you want for your bike. I went thru a big sucker for my bike and then switched to a screamin eagle air cleaner. I also went with a S&S filter on my softail and just a K&N filter on my Vrod. Each bike looks different and thus requires it's own unique touches.
If it has cams it has been flashed. It would not run right with a stage 1 + cams on original tune.
What cams, exhaust, and AC are you running?
SE 206 cams, SE slip ons (older model “off road use only” ones) and factory air cleaner. Can tunes be done on the factory ECU without a tuner hooked up constantly?

I doubt it’s a stock AC if it has SE Cams. Look behind the chrome football cover and if you can see the air filter your have a stage 1 A/C if it’s a black plastic cover behind the chrome cover you are stock. I never heard of a Cam before a stage 1 air but who knows.
Yes, you can flash the ECU without leaving a tuner piggy backed. I can flash with my Powervision tuner and put the tuner away. Some timers like Power Camanders stay piggy backed to the ECU for the tune. A dealer flash doesn’t require a tuner to stay attached to the bike.
I would just do a simple stage one air filter because unless you do some head work the stage one air filter will flow more air than the engine can handle.

You’re right, it is a stage 1. I assumed that because it was the stock cover I had a stock AC. I appreciate the info. If I were to upgrade the AC to an AN Stage 2, I assume I’d need a new tune, correct?

Nothing beats the factory OEM for engine longevity. And flows fine all the way up to WOT.
The butterfly opening is the limiting factor since air is only being pushed in from atmosphere pressure.

No need to look for anything else, Stage 1 AC is all you need.
IMHO Stage 1 meaning Air and Exhaust along with Cams will be just fine for a 96” or 103”. You can to some mild head work and squeeze a little more out or even go big bore and get some more.
For me Stage 1 with Andrews Cams has my 96” running strong.
