I have a 2004 Roadking that will drain the battery if it sits very long without starting it. Any ideas what to start looking at? The battery tests good and takes a charge.
Not really unusual for that to happen after sitting for a very long time. What do you consider "very long"? I plug in the tender any time the bike sits over a week without being started.
Usually a couple weeks and it's down enough where it won't start. I've got a battery tender I can hook up. This is a fairly new bike to me and hadn't had that issue with some others. Thanks for the info.
Connect a known good digital meter to the battery, look for voltage drop. If drop is present, pull fuses one at a time until you see what the culprit is.
Tip: If you pull the maxi fuse and volt drop starts, suspect battery, battery cables, or main wiring harness. With all connections removed and volts drop, bingo, it's the battery.
No radio. It does have the keyless start. I guess that has to stay on looking for the key.

i think you're confused. if you don't have security, then the bike is not 'looking for' anything. the key is for locking your saddlebags (if not leather), tourpack (not on a roadking), and ignition switch.
