V&H Big Shot Duals CHIRPING SOUND!!! Annoying!

I've had my V&H Big shot duals on my bike now for about a week and a half and I'd have to say they are definitely loud as H E L L but they have a very very annoying chirping sound at cruising speeds when you just barely get on the throttle. Its not a squeak or an exhaust leak or anything like that, I think its just the way the exhaust passes out the end of the pipe.
Anyone else have this symptom ?????

I'm getting soooo sick of em I'm thinkin about ditching them and switching back to Hooker Slip ons with the factory head pipes. Too bad I just sold em on ebay though!! DOH!!!
Or i'm thinkin about a 2 into 1 but I just dont know how they would look on a RKC.

Let me know what yall think.

Maybe a dumb question, but have you checked everything to make sure they are tight?? The slightest leak could cause the chirpping when hitting the throttle.

I have the V&H True Duals and was having the same noise and went through and made sure everything was tight and found that one of the nuts that holds the pipe to the head I was able to get two completeturns to tighten and that solved the problem. Worked for me, might for you???

i have tightened everything a couple of times. The noise seems to kind of come and go at times. I've seen some other posts about certain noised becoming present while riding over certain surfaces. But this does not seem to be the case for me.

I'll try some other things but I'm think about getting rid of em now. Kind of too annoying.

I had a similar chirp coming off my stock exhaust. I lubed the rubber grommets the rear of th muffler hangs on. It fixed the problem. I haven't heard the chirp since!

Or if they are worn out you can get new ones. They cost a whole $1.80 at your local HD shop. I went and bought a brand new one when i put the Bassani 2-1 on, sincemine were 8 years old. Damn near went broke but I got me one.

my rubber grommets are in good shape yet. I've also lubed them up. The chirping is definitely coming from the pipes. Like the baffles are whistling and chirping or something. The baffles are tight and in place but they just seem to make some noise, I'm gonna call vance and hines tommorow about it and see what they say.

I don't think there's much you can do. I think I have the same sound coming from mine now & again...it reminds me of the flying car sounds on the jetsons a little...I just think that's the way the sound comes out of those things...I think I'm the only one who can hear it -being on the bike - and the rest of the "good sound" is loud enough for me, so I don't care much about it. I'm curious what you may find out, if anything.
