It definitely could be from the cold, the plates were likely sticking together

If the plates were sticking together, the clutch would not have slipped....
OP: Tell us what model and year bike, stock clutch? Hydraulic or cable actuated?

Looking at his previous threads, it looks like he has a 2012 Ultra Limited.

Well the viscosity of oil is higher at lower temps.. It could be an issue.. Improper clutch adjustment might bring it out but IIRC hot usually lessens the free play.. Could also be caused by your frozen fingers not wanting to let go of the lever..

Might just need a clutch adjustment.
But, depending upon mileage and how ya use it...the clutch might be due for replacement.
