I couldn't find it on their website, maybe I missed it somewhere but what's the difference between the elite and standard? Considering one for my Road King.

Nevermind, I think I found it in their FAQ: Currently, most LRS windshields are made from Impact Modified Acrylic. Our ELITE series of windshields are made from Glass-Coated Polycarbonate material.

Just FYI for those looking to order. I called LRS because I'm torn between the 16" or 18", I'm 5'9" with 30" inseam. The rep told me the shields are about 1/2" shorter than stated because of the curve so an 18" shield is actually about 17 1/2". I'm still torn since some here who are the same size as I am say the 18" is great while others say the 16" is great. I have my current shield all taped up at the different heights and just need to decide now. I'd like the smallest height without and buffeting.

In the additional information on the LRS website, I believe in the FAQ section, there are details about the differences.

Essentially one type can be polished, if scratched, and the other cannot.

if you can’t decide or have more questions, call LRS.

As someone said previously, the difference from rider to rider is the torso height, NOT the overall height of the rider.

Check the LRS site, and measure your necessary shield height per their measurement instructions, while sitting on your bike, and call them with any further questions.

I purchased the Road King Recurve (Models Harley Road King 1996-2017) × 1 20" / Medium Tint and I absolutely love it. I have a 2006 Road King Police EFI.

I'm 5'10" and more torso than anything and the previous owner of my bike had cut the windshield so it was probably about 12" - when I replaced it with the LRS it was like riding a completely different bike. The buffeting at highway speed was terrible and this cleared it right up.

I can't recommend these windshields enough - and I really like the medium tint.

I've owned and used LRS, Klockwerks, and HD ALL of them fail in comparison to the quality of the Freedom Shields.

Some recurve shields will have some distortion (Klockwerks I found were the worst) and if you look through the windshield this will be an issue.

Some shields aren't strong enough to "hold" at speed and the air flow will change based on speed (I found LRS to be an issue here).

I have a 20" Freedom Shield in dark tint and the only thing i'd ever trade it for is the 22" in my garage when I go to my day long seat

In this case and imho, you do in fact get what you pay for.

I'd also mention Clearview Shields, I had one on my 2012 RKC and the venting was awesome but at that time they didn't have a recurve option.

Another vote for LRS Recurve windshields, excellent product, excellent value.
In my experience, with a standard windshield at mustache height, the wind goes just over the top of my helmet. With the recurve, the shield is a full inch lower, but the wind goes over my helmet the same.
Hit 'em up for a free tee shirt while you are making the deal...
