So for the most part my bike is running better than it ever has. It's a 2007 FLHTCU. When I bought it in 2011 it had about 19K miles on it. I now have about 63K. I've had several iterations of tuners on it. From a Stage 1 HD flash, then a Power Commander V and now finally running a Power Vision. I had issues with both the flash as well as the PCV and that continued even after a Dynotune with the PCV by a supposed reputable tuner. Since I put the PV on it the bike has run like a thoroughbred. That was a couple of years ago when I also did a cam upgrade.
However, I've only recently been having problems with idling when the bike sits for several days. I don't often go more than a few days without riding it and try and ride to work at least 3 days per week and if that's the case the bike runs flawless. However if it sits for 7-10 days or more (and always on a tender) it seems to have a very high idle problem. It will idle at 16-1800 rpm and at times will not calm down even after the end of my 10 mile, mostly freeway, commute. Then usually, but not always it is fine on my ride home. After a day or two of riding it settles down and gets back to normal.
This whole thing is made worse because I leave for work every morning at 5:30 AM and I'm sure that my bike firing up in my garage and pulsing at 1800 revs, with my True Duals and Rineharts is pretty disturbing to my neighbors..........
So I'll probably end up sending a message to Jamie at Fuel Moto but before I do I thought I'd see if any of the HDF Brethren have any input.
The fact that it ran well for a couple years and now has issues, suggests to me it's not the tune, but rather something else has "failed/broken" and requires attention, like one of the many sensors... Unless you've changed something, flashed tunes don't usually just go bad....
Maybe search this forum for high idle and see what/how it's been diagnosed and fixed on other bikes....
You can always hook up the PowerVision and run a data log, when you know the conditions are ripe for the high idle issue.... If it high idles while data logging you should have all the info FuelMoto will need to diagnose and fix the issue if it's tune related.....
Good luck...

There's a connector at the throttle body the exact name of it eludes me right now but sometimes you get fretting or corroded takes contact cleaner pull that plug and clean it up. I had idle issue with a 2010 and that's what it turned out to be.
Pardon me while I criticize, but I call bullshit.
It is not the bike, it is you!
Paraphrasing, but hattitude is right.
If it ran great for all those miles and something is wrong now, it is because you have not been paying attention.

My suggestions:
1) check for codes
2) run some cleaner (like Seafoam) in a couple of tanks of gas.
3) check for codes
4) come back here with results
.
Sam2010 is right. Mine does it from time to time. I just pull that connector off and put it back on to clean the contacts up a little bit. Contact cleaner would be better. Works every time.
On a 2007 bike there is a 95% chance it's the Idle Air Control (IAC) on the throttle body. It's a common issue and an easy, relatively inexpensive repair.

Well there you go.....
I would put this suggestion at the top of your list.
When I said "one fo the many sensors", I was thinking of the IAC, but couldn't remember what it was called, and I was too lazy to look it up (sorry).... I figured you'd find it if you searched... FuelMoto's vast experience beat you to it..

Pulled the AC, sprayed some IAC and MAF Sensor Cleaner into the intake and cavities. Re-charged the K&N while at it. Really hard start, I mean it was like an 8 second start and probably didn't do the starter motor any favors but once she fired up....oh boy. Like new again. Just saved 30 grand.........again!
Thanks Jamie. By the way I love this Power Vision. Bike has never run better.
