Tightened cables and cleaned any suggestions?
His system is like a carb with a fuel sprayer on top.
No IAC
Go to YouTube and search for your system. There are some great blow by blow of each system function and how to adjust.
In a way, it's a very cool system and a million GM cars , Jeep's and what not had it.
Understand it, and it's great and simple.
My Jeep in the first FI after throttle body spray.
It has a IAC that looks just like my Harley's.
Has 300k on it.

I would bet that your Jeep doesn't have crank case vapor being sucked past your IAC. For the OP, that enrichment sprayer and/or the IAC need to be cleaned. I have had this same problem on cars with over 100k on them, and it is usually a sticky IAC.

Unlike a Harley with little room for vent, the Jeep breather has a huge box inside top of valve cover. Then a vent tube that dumps on to of a big rectangular filter. Then thru a snorkel to throttle body.
Usually on cars, it's the back wash from the last spray of the FI system ever time you cut it off that is not drawn into engine is that black crud. It was caked on a 1/4 " in the ends of my manifold where it enters the side of the head.
Little got by air filter. No butterfly popet valves since there is not that brief fackflow like a Harley twin shareing single pin crank
Could be quality of gas? Any chance of it being old or contaminated?
I had that problem once. Needed just a tad of throttle to start and idle. Was gas. Screwed around for a week with it. Mine however is FI.
Start and idle is a very lean and sensitive to issues.
A restricted fuel system will first affect idle on a FI unlike a carb since with a carb, it will be top in since takes little to fill fuel bowl
I did a little research for you, check out these links. It does sound like you have a fuel delivery problem, and I read these links and it sounds as if your MM EFI is junk, my conclusion.
