A little update here. I got the risers on for the last time. Ran the wires through the new handlebars and started putting it all back together. No unexpected issues so far! Stock cables look like they will work, so I got a set of barnett black vinyl cables. I think the black will work with my black accents. Also I'm not really a fan of how stainless lines yellow and look crappy after awhile. I also ordered a new set of front brake lines, the correct master cylinder for 1.25" bars, and a throttle grip extension to put TBW bars on a cable throttle bike. Its coming together! I'm hoping to have it all finished by the first week in march.
Parts started showing up this week, so I figured Id come home from school this weekend to get some stuff knocked out. I pulled the tank off to do some touch up and remove some leftover glue from LED light strips Im assuming.
This is a Harley Parts & Accessories paint set for 2002. Patriot Red Pearl/Birch White. Its funny to see how the bottom of the tank was masked.
Got the drag specialties master cylinder, brake lines, and Barnett throttle cables installed. These are all stock length. Nice and clean fit so far, Im happy!
While I had the tank off I polished the rocker covers as best I could, and did a quick tidy up under there.
Looking good. Cant think of much better than fixing up a free Harley to honor a friend. My double Purple Heart neighbor has a Dyna that Id love to get my hands on for him if I had the $$$.
