i can't really find a correct answer on this one. How in the world do I get Apple carplay to work on my 2019 SGS? Do I have to have the WHIM system or not? Is there a way to Bluetooth some headphones to the system and get it to come up? Thanks for the help.
Not knowing squat about Apple stuff, is this something that would require you to pair your Iphone to your Boom Audio system? Does Harley address this in the Boom Audio Owner's manual? That should be accessible online should you need to check.
The WHIM module would allow you to pair bluetooth headsets to your Boom Audio unit. I'd hope that wouldn't be a requirement for using the Carplay functionality.
Also try Googling Apple Car Play, that may give you some information.

The phone has to be hard wired in and there has to be a mike, either wired or bluetooth. Then it will change the phone icon on the main menu to carplay
I found that out I just cant find for 100% sure if I have to have the whim system or not
Read Psprag's reply to my earlier post-

All the whim does really, is to allow you to interface wireless (aka bluetooth) headsets to your Boom Audio system. Per the above, Carplay will work with wired (NO WHIM NEEDED!) or Bluetooth (Whim needed if you want the bluetooth headsets to work in conjunction with your Boom Audio system).
I'd say you don't NEED the Whim here. Installing the WHIM will render wired headsets relatively useless, and force you to bluetooth ones.
Several things
1- you have to have a microphone connected (wired or whim)
2- you have to have your phone plugged into the usb with a data cable (not just a charger) in the fairing compartment
3- in your setting you have to turn on PROJECTION
4- Car Play will then work.
