On the few occasions I have lent things to people in every case they have not looked after them.
You are venting not whining.
Offering stuff in good faith you would think would earn some respect but I guess others are on a different wave length, a different psyche, a different view of the world, etc.

So, I was curious. I looked for a thread or post where you offered the tools so I could see which member took you up on the offer. I couldn't find anything. Your last post was in August 2018.
In my case, I bought all the tools new when I did my cam installs. I used them twice for that purpose.
After that they sat in my tool box...I figured I would be a nice guy and offer them to any rider who wanted to use them to instal cams and save $100 +/- at the same time.
I always got good advice on this forum, purchased items on here at good prices and enjoyed the drama at times.....I wanted to give back but like I stated, I did cover myself by asking for a deposit.
I have no problem taking the deposit money for the tools but the loanee made it clear he wanted his money back and would return the tools.
I'm hoping he sees this post and does the right thing, one way or the other......
If you don't get it, you don't get it.....Yes, I have the money but that's not the issue......Maybe I posted this so anyone else who was thinking about loaning out tools may want to rethink it.....
