Your a good guy, glade you have the money in your pay pal account to cover the cost. I do things like that all the time, got burned a few times so what. I do some work on motorcycles at my home lot cheaper that the dealer, most work is done for a case of miller lite. Changed this guys oil one time 3500 miles later he blows up his motor and blames me. Wants to sue me I found out he dropped the bike never checked it out and was leaking oil. His former friend told me. I told him that was the last time we talked. So **** happens you got the money for a new one your not out anything, except the betray, keep being a nice guy.
[QUOTE=Kingface;18089855. The 'don't trust anyone' mentality is a lonely sad way to live. [/QUOTE]
Beggin' yer pardon but I am not lonely and I am not sad......actually much happier since I no longer loan tools (returned greasy and/or broken) or my shop vac which this "friend" used to clean up a bathroom toilet overflow and returned to me without the foam filter or a paper filter and didn't tell me. Turned it on to clean up a large dust pile a few weeks later and.................well you can imagine!!!!! That was the last time, ever. Too many inconsiderate a**holes. I have no regrets....and I'm happy and don't need friends like that.
good that you got a deposit to cover the cost of the tools. i would send him a message and let him know that if i didn't see a tracking number in 2 to 3 days, i would consider the tools sold. then take the money from your PayPal account and buy a new set.
You're a good guy to do something like this and hopefully you don't get burned.
How can he get burned... he has the $'s in his Paypal account?
Hey, HDV-GLIDE - you did a good thing - don't allow someone's selfishness to cause you to change.... you did a good thing regardless of what that person does. Its kind of like the image you have up for your screen name "I'm only responsible for what I say, NOT what you understand" - same goes here... you did something good, don't let another's actions cause you to question that.
If you are under the illusion that people (without some trans-formative event) are basically good... well that's a discussion for another thread. I only add this because you mentioned that your trust in people has diminished...

If you don't get it, you don't get it.....Yes, I have the money but that's not the issue......Maybe I posted this so anyone else who was thinking about loaning out tools may want to rethink it.....
Yeah, I get it. You loaned your tools and you posted on a public forum about what a great guy you are for doing so and what a douche bag the guy is that didn't return your tools. Now, you're warning everyone about loaning out tools. If you were such a magnanimous person like you're portraying, you wouldn't have posted this in the first place.

That's pretty harsh.... but at least you spelled magnanimous correctly.
I see trying to have a civil conversation with you is like having one with a Liberal.....Unless I agree with you/them, my opinion and thoughts are useless......But that's why they make vanilla and chocolate ice cream, to each their own......have a good day....

i'm sorry. but i see this written so many times, and to be honest it is complete and utter bs. there are just as many conservatives that will bash you over the head if you don't agree with their 'opinion' and have no qualms about telling you why your opinion is wrong.
