I saw your thread offering to lend the tools on deposit. I thought it was a great idea to help out fellow members. I hate to hear that you had a bad experience on the first loan. One thing that I can say is your heart was in the right place.
I'm a member of several other forums not bike related. I've seen offers similar to yours with people with a good heart wanting to help others. Usually something like this happens sooner or later but it's usually later.
I see trying to have a civil conversation with you is like having one with a Liberal.....Unless I agree with you/them, my opinion and thoughts are useless......But that's why they make vanilla and chocolate ice cream, to each their own......have a good day....
Ah, don't let him bother you. In his mind he's the smartest guy in the room, just read his responses to other posts. Just another forum a$$hole!
i'm sorry. but i see this written so many times, and to be honest it is complete and utter bs. there are just as many conservatives that will bash you over the head if you don't agree with their 'opinion' and have no qualms about telling you why your opinion is wrong.
I think it was pretty damned nice of you to make such an offer. If it makes you feel any better I'm sure the majority on this forum would've sent them back.I know I would've wanted to get my money back!
I understand the principle of the matter. You've given that situation a long enough time I think keep the money move on do not give it any more of your positive energy. Let it go and try to be happy.
I spent many years working in general aviation and mechanics are expected to purchase their own hand tools. It is easy to invest tens of thousands of dollars in quality hand tools and specialty tools. In addition to my collection of quality hand tools, I have been collecting HD specialty tools as I work on my Ultra project. I will bring them and watch you do the work, I will help you do the work, but unless you are a friend or family, they will always be in my sight.
I was thoroughly lashed in a similar discussion when I made the comment that in that world, unless you are a good friend or family, it is not appropriate to ask to borrow another's tech's tools. Accept if offered, but do not ask. I was trolled by folks who did not see any problem with asking to borrow expensive specialty tools like yours from a complete stranger and pointed out that my attitude was not that of a, "Brother."
You were wise to get a deposit because it seems like the "borrower" does not plan on returning them. Send him a receipt and get new tools and live and learn.
