HD Fork Compressor
Google "OTC #4779 fork vise" and you will get multiple vendors with different prices. I think I paid about $110 when I bought it a few years ago. It has a mount so you can have it stand alone, mounted to a work bench. I use the mount to clamp in my standard vise... my shop is small, I don't have unlimited work bench space to mount all that I would like..

While it's not cheap, it's a good, well-made tool and I like tools....

I use an electric (Heavy) impact gun for slowly putting back in the fork cap as the impact gun has a big grip surface to push down on the spring. Once you get the cap next to the fork tube threads you very slowly engauge the threads. The extra 10# or so of the gun really makes a difference as does pushing directly down on the fork cap.
I also have a spring compressor that comes in handy on heavy springs.
