Default Monotubes with +2 fork extensions

Can you run 2” fork extensions with monotubes? Going to be running 14” rears on my road glide. Just curious if anyone has experience?

Are you going to use different fork tubes? If your upper and lower fork tubes are the same and you’re just extending them somehow, I don’t see why you couldn’t run the monotubes. But you may want to do a little searching on those monotubes, since there’s a lot of folks that aren’t satisfied with their performance.

Depends on how much you’re willing to spend brother. I’ve run the Ohlins FKC102 cartridges and am now running the Legend Axeo cartridges. I can objectively say, based on my experience, that the Axeo cartridges are better in every way. And the Ohlins cartridges are considered the best by a lot of folks, unless you’re going away from the 49MM setup and doing something custom.

I ran Progressive Monotubes in my 04 RK and was less than satisfied with the performance.

They just ride better in every way. They eat the bumps better, feel more stable when cornering and going over bumps when cornering, better feel under hard braking, don’t drag the foot boards as much in sharp corners, don’t have to worry about having them serviced every 20k miles like the Ohlins, they have preload adjustments, and they have a lifetime warranty. Just an overall more enjoyable experience. Combined with the Legend Revo-A rear shocks has made my bike about as perfect as I can get it.

FWIW: I scrapped the progressive mono's for Aveo's and have the same results as Cory S.
