Default Throttle & Idle Cable Help

2007 Street Glide-

I screwed up and removed my throttle and idle cables on Saturday assuming that I would get the new ones put on that day for my new bar install. Well that day did not come until yesterday. I can not remember for the live of me which one goes on the front and which goes on the back side of the throttle body and which is the correct location on the switch housing also. One of the cables has a spring on the end that goes onto the throttle body. Also one of the cable has a plug for cruise control even though my bike does not have electronic cruise. I searched for a long time for just a diagram or anything today online and found nothing. Just wanted to add I already checked the owners manual and there is no diagram in there for this. All help will be greatly appreciated fellas!!!

You should have a service manual. That would answer your question and provide you with the correct method of cable adjustment.

AND, your phone has a camera just for situations like this one. To late for that now, I know.

Pull goes on the filter side push on the engine side.
The one with the spring on the end is push, engine side.

I am just asking. Are you 100% sure on that? I took everything back off last night and re-ran it all. The end with the spring I put on filter side and now the throttle body is snapping back closed like it is suppose to. If you are 100% I will change it again when I get home from work. Also where the cable push into the switch housing I put throttle on the fairing side and idle on gas tank side. Does that sound correct?

The spring and the cruise control roll-off switch are on the idle cable. The idle cable is the rear one closest to the rider on the throttle control. The throttle cable is the one toward the front of the bike. I am thinking that it is almost impossible to get them wrong because one has a larger diameter. I do not know if you can connect them to the throttle body wrong but I do not see how...

I appreciate it skinman13. I had it right the first time then but I am not sure why it would not adjust to close the butterfly on the throttle body. But as soon as I took it all off last night and put it back on the same way it works like it is suppose to.

I usually screw the pooch when I start overthinking what I have already done. I recently replaced my handlebars and installed new cables and was thinking just how easy it was to replace and adjust the cables until my cruise control didn't work. After taking everything apart, I "discovered" that when I adjusted the idle cable to take up the play to my liking, the roll-off switch was closed.

Default Cruis control cable

Appologies for hijacking the thread...... replacing my cables and discovered my 07 RK cruise cable is disconnected where it attaches to the throttle body. the little plastic nub is broken off. It's right below where the cable attach to the throttle body. Does anyone know if that part can be replaced. I have seen the spring return in manuals, but no name or part number listed. Any help is appreciated.
