Default Slight wiggle with new Metzler set

2010 flhtk. Changed both tires to me 888s and used counter act beads and now I get a slight wiggle with wind gusts at highway speeds going straight. I was running on a nearly bald Commander ii and never got any type of steering problem in wind. Even heavy wind and dirty air never affected the fairing. This is the first new set of tires I've had on this bike so I'm not sure if it's normal break in characteristics or not. Maybe the 888s are just more affected by wind gusts then the commanders? Any other thoughts? Everything has been torqued to speed and checked twice so nothing is loose.

The wiggle isn't a death wobble. It's just enough input for me to notice. When there's no wind the bike tracks straight and rides smooth as glass. Any thoughts?

I ran 888's on my Ultra prior to putting on a pair of American Elite's and never had that problem. Wind or not. Before the 888's ran 880's with the same results. I ran the beads in my Dyna with Metz 880's also with no issues. I use standard stick on weights now on my Ultra but I don't think you should be getting that wobble from the tires.

You didn't ask but next time you need rubber you should read up on the American Elite's. Best tires I've ever run.

Putting on new tires, even same brand and size, makes a huge difference in handling. Keep in mind your new tires are still round side to side as opposed to your old worn out tires being flat across the bottom. I bet you would have felt the same difference had you put new commanders on.

I looked at elites but for some reason I was fixated on the Metzler. Maybe next go around I'll try the elites.

I didn't think about that actually. That could explain it. The last tire has zero tread in the middle.

The first ride on new tires is always an experience for me. After being used to having to almost push the bike past the flat edge on the old tires in a turn, I feel like the bike is going to fall over on new tires. Give the new tires a chance to get scuffed up a little and you to get used to them as opposed to the old worn out tires and I'm sure you'll be very happy.
