I was going to clean and oil my filter today and to my surprise my SE filter was no oil paper filter. I went and picked the new K&N SE Filter that should be good forever. I was running that filter since I bought the bike with 17k on it, I now have over 42k. I’m thinking that’s a lot of miles on a paper filter, she can breath now.
I was also running the same spark plugs so I tossed a couple new plugs in. Bike seems a bit more responsive now... Go figure??

You upgraded well. I would check that AC filter at the beginning/end of every riding season, and after long trips. Did you clean your throttle body and the electrical connectors while it was off?

No cleaning just switched to the K&N...
I’ll clean the old one up for a spare in case I want to ride while the K&N is drying.
The air filter that came on my 2011 RKC was a white cotton gauze that on the front was stamped "Do Not Oil". Crazy to have a filter like that where it will get some oil fume blowby.
I moved up to the A/N Big Sucker with their "Million Mile Filter" that looks K/N to me. Wash and recharge every year. Catches hell out of pollen, for sure!
