I want to thank everyone for the suggestions for the Bell Pit Boss. I bought one and it came today. Seems like a really nice product. I requested it in white and outside it is but under indoor light is leaning towards silver. Its a pearl white. There are some molding blemishes underneath the finish on the one side and it is enhanced by the pearl paint but nothing I cant live with and you really have to look for it. I got the clear shield with it. Rather pricey at $179 Canadian plus taxes etc, but I think I like it and that's what counts. Again thankyou all for the advice. I took it.....
I wear a Bell Pit Boss. It's comfortable and adjustable and is available in gloss black. It has a neck/ear collar that zips on and off. The drop down visor is tinted but there is a clear one available.
Love it. Fits great plus has the adjusting wheel on the back to fine tune it on the ol' noggin😎
My 'highway-longer-trip-helmet' is a Shoei full face and of course, I like it, fits good cuts the wind noise down by 53.7%

I suggest NOT Black. (I ride with the Pit Boss white). I know black is the "cool look" for HD riders, BUT a black helmet and a black jacket or shirt is terrible for "being seen". I don't follow the rules when I ride.....I wear a white 1/2 Pit Boss and either a neon yellow or neon orange shirt in the summer heat and a safety neon yellow jacket in the colder temps. Most important to me is TO BE SEEN. (the safety yellow jacket has a reversable black interior, so if I want I can reverse it when off the cycle.)
That's what they make reflective tape for. I have a 2x3 inch reflective US flag on the back and other reflective decals on the sides...if you can't see it, you ain't looking where you should be looking.
Kingface, (who really cares if a matte black helmet gets scuffed?? It's a helmet, not a tuxedo?)
I DO. I take care of what and how I ride. If you have no respect for you bike, and OR even your Helmet, Shows That's my .02 and that's all that counts with me. Im one of these guys some on here mock about always cleaning and shining and pampering their rides. I have respect for my bike and apparel. My life depends on it.

How does getting scuffs on a helmet have anything to do on whether or not I take care of my bike or not?? My desk in my office is messy......I guess that means my home is a mess and I am just a slob right? It's a helmet....it's going to get nailed by bugs, bird sh@t, rocks, rain, dirt and all kinds of debris. I have way more important things to do then 'pamper' a damn helmet........
King, my point is, that because I don't want a flat black finish on my helmet because it shows bugs, scuffs, and use is no concern of yours. I don't have any say either way what your ride or how you take care of it, nor did I or will I comment on the the coulour of your ride, the choice of tires, the fuel you use. You have YOUR reasons for what you have, I have mine. So slamming me because its "just a helmet" is rather Noble of you to point out the error of my ways. I bow down your majesty. How foolish of me to want my stuff looking good.
I like the matte black for ease of touch up. I wash it scuff and repaint it a couple of times a summer. 3 years old and looks like new.
My $.02:
Helmet Manufacturers dont recommend painting due to the chemicals in the paint can compromise the other materials in the helmet, and essentially make the helmet less effective.
I have some some paint and airbrush abilities and always wanted to paint a custom helmet for myself, but have always shyed away for this reason.
In PA I have a choice with the use of a helmet, and choose to wear one for safety reasons, so I personally want the protection over looks.
I also follow mfg recommend replacement intervals as well.
