Default Couple of possible issues.

Seems that I have two issues going on right now. As it says below its an FM 107 with 85k miles.

A couple of days ago, I started getting an intermittent light knocking sound from the front of the engine. Sounded like it was coming form the lower front left side. We were thinking it might be either the engine mount or the compensator. My plans for the weekend were to include installing the 50 mm SE Throttle body, Rocker Lockers, fix a rocker box seep, possibly a new front engine mount, and a new coil.

I opened up the primary and checked the torque on the compensator and the chain tightness. Compensator was tight and the chain was about right. Buttoned it up and refilled it with Primary +.

Next, I removed the air cleaner and mount, throttle body, front rocker cover and breather, and rocker arms and push rods. Installed the Rocker Lockers, installed new seals (bought from HD) in the push rod tubes and reinstalled them, reinstalled the push rods (intake to intake, exhaust to exhaust). Installed new gasket for the rocker box, reinstalled the rocker arms and breather, new gasket for the rocker cover. Then followed with the rear rocker cover and breather, and rocker arms. Installed the Rocker Lockers. Reinstalled the rocker arms and breather and new gasket for the rocker cover. At this time I installed the 50 mm intake and Accel COP kit.

Upon putting everything back together, the computer was flashed with the new file. I fired it up and let it warm up. Did this a couple of times to make sure there were no leaks or issues.

About 40k miles ago I did a breather bypass. Basically just pushed a couple of rubber hoses on the breather bolts and ran them under the filter to a small breather filter on a tee. Have had no issues whatsoever with that setup. Hoses stayed on the entire time. I was thinking that the hoses were a bit soft at the ends, so I trimmed them up and slipped them back on. Seemed to go back on like it did when new. I finished everything up early Sunday afternoon. So, I took it for a tuning ride. Halfway around my circuit of about 8 miles, I smelled oil, and the entire right side of the motor and the front of the right saddle bag had some oil on it. Finished my circuit and pulled into the garage. I noticed that the front hose had come off of the fitting. So I'm thinking, now its time for new hoses. Bought them at O'Reilly's and came home after dinner and put them on. Warmed up the engine, revved it up a couple of times, thinking I might blow one of the hoses of. Didn't happen. This morning, I rode it to work. Half way to work, I noticed I had oil on the side cover, front of the saddle bag and the rear cylinder exhaust. The tubing is still on the air cleaner nipples and no excessive oil is dripping off of the breather filter.

I’m leaning more towards the push rod tubes being the cause of the oil leakage. As I go home this afternoon, I’ll be looking at them in the day light and will try to isolate the oil leak origin.

However, the intermittent light knocking sound from the front of the engine still escapes me. I have a new motor mount coming from J&P on Wednesday. I’m hoping that it is the cause of the sound. This sound is not there when idling. And is more consistent but still intermittent when under a load.

Any suggestions?
Thanks for any input.
