Default I Completely Solved the Sumping Issue Etc

Started riding Harley's in 1986. Around 2000 it seems there were all kinds of issues with brand new bikes being reported. Had 4 speedometers on a new Softail I bought before one actually worked. Here we are again now with the reported sumping, oil pump failures etc etc. Sold the '18 Road King and bought an '18 BMW K1600 GTL. Problem solved for me. I love Harley's, owned 47 of them. Yep 47. Maybe I'll buy another in the future but for now I'm enjoyin the heck out of this BMW.

What do you like most about the BMW over the Road King? They do have some nice features. I really like that the suspension is adjustable with the push of a button - seems like a feature I would really like since I go from one up to two up and back often. And the standard heated grips and seats is pretty cool. I rode a 2018 R1200RT and that thing was nice. Very quick and agile compared to my beast. The brakes are amazing. The adjustable windscreen is a nice feature too. I just could not take the plunge with one. Maybe at some point an addition. I wouldn't mind trying one out for a bit to see if I would enjoy that riding position.

I like the new GoldWings too. They reek of quality and state-of-the-art.

But they just aren't a Harley.

47 Harleys in 32 years. That's a ton of money. Hopefully the greatness of the BMW entices you keep it longer than a year.

Perhaps many others choosing a solution similar to yours is a contributing reason for the KC plant closure. May the bean counters get a clue.

The BMW K1600 B was on my short list but BMW's have their own quality and reliability issues. Plus the cost of maintaining and the distance to the nearest shop didn't help. Sure wouldn't mind some of those conveniences like reverse assist. Right now I am completely satisfied with my Road King.
