In the beginning electronic ignition was more stable and precise than points with fewer moving, and fewer wear parts.
Then fuel injection came for same reason. Carbs are just a happy comprise at idle, off idle, main jet, and wide open full throttle.
Now Electronic throttle which when the bugs are worked out, should be better. Cables have a lot of slack in them even if you don't actually notice it.
But you're right, a company that subcontracts a radio that has not worked right for two years and an air temp gauge for 7, and they want their dealers to be able fix the fly by wire??? what a joke that is.
Yes the aftermarket will come up with solutions for everything in about a year.
I will be keeping my 06 and my next will be a used one.
Buy it for $10k or so and put $5k into it and it will be as good as a new one.mo!
