I'd say give the AutoTune a go, and it will likely increase your mileage as it tunes around the stoichiometric narrow band sensors. We've put a new tool into the app that allows you to see the VE Delta tables to determine when you're completed mapping.

I've got a couple trips planned for the next couple of days , so I'm going to do the Auto tune .. Thanks V&H for the vid , I've been all over the program and seen everything it can do , most of which I'll steer clear of and let it do it's own thing . I'm going to purchase a bar clamp so I can see what it's doing while I ride just for curiosity sake . I'll learn more as I go along , but so far I'm loving the unit . Thanks V&H , and everyone else ! I'll keep everyone posted as to the progress of the tuning .

Yesterday , I took my bike out for it's very first auto tune . I watched a few videos on auto tuning with FP3 so I knew what I was expecting . What I did learn was when you start auto tune it makes a copy the map that you originally installed on your fp3 , it does not auto tune your existing map . When you fire it up it will run somewhat poor until it warms up , that's because it turns off most of the sensors on your bike while it does the AT . There was some popping throughout the ride and I noticed the bike was a little sluggish , not as much power compared to the original caned map that it copied . There is a learning curve to doing an auto tune , I started riding around the city in lower speeds cruising through residential areas occasionally hitting the freeway every so often so I could bring up the rpm's in the lower gears . I spent about an hr doing that and finally headed out on the highway and really got her opened up . For the auto tune V&H recommends that you do not run cruise control while doing the AT . While out on the highway I ran the bike at different speeds , slowing down and speeding up , just as you would when passing someone . The roads were clear and not much traffic to be seen so I found it to be safe to do this .

Basically , I rode my bike the way I normally would occasionally bringing up the rpm's higher than I normally would . I spent a total of 3 hrs riding around . The map had plenty of green squares showing so I decided to flash at a gas station near by . When I did the flash , it actually loaded that tuned map into another slot ( 3 ) and left the original map in it's ( 2 ) . I rode around for another 1hr with the new tune and found the bike to be running much better than it was before the tune . The idle was much smoother , shifting seemed to be smoother and I found the bike to have much more torque than before . I have my throttle progressivity set to moderate which makes the throttle feel more responsive , like it so I will keep it there . I didn't notice any popping on decel and the exhaust sound on and off throttle sounds pretty sweet . The decel pop setting in the tuner is set to off for now , so if I do happen to hear some popping I will try 1 firecracker and move up until it takes care of it , but for now there's no need .

I'm not very technically inclined and my explanation of my tuning experience was done to the best of my ability . I'm hoping it will help others know what to expect when they do their own tune .

So far I'm quite happy with the results of the tune , but if you have any recommendations or tips that would make it better , please feel free to mention it .

Going back to original reason of the post , during the entire tune I did stop a couple of times and never experienced the odd stall when restarting however I will remove the tuner when I feel like I can't do any better .

Thanks , I ended up going for a 4hr ride yesterday and found that I was experiencing some very minimal popping in between my shifts , so I pulled over and reflashed the bike using 1 stick of dyno . That totally got rid of the popping and it runs extremely well . I do find that when doing about 110Km/hr ( 6th gear ) when I crack the throttle wide open it will kinda bog down a little and then slowly picks up speed , when I roll the throttle slowly , I have no issue . It's not really that bad and it's something I can live with , but if there is something I can do to help it along I'm willing to give it a try .

I still get the p1010 code and it will die with in seconds of start up but restart and run fine. I don’t want to unplug the fp3 as i like its live sensor info.

I'm doing some sensor reading , so I plugged in my FP3 a few days ago . It did that to me once , then I remembered what I had to . The reason the bike dies , is because the security system hasn't completed it's communication before the bike is started ( something to that affect ) . I learned that it won't happen if you turn the Run / Off switch to the on position before you turn the main ignition on . Give it a try , you should get the same results I have .

Going to try this. Just went out after clearing codes and it did not die.
