Default MTX Road Thunder review

I purchased this last year for my new Heritage Classic 2023, worked great, still think it does, this spring pulled the bike out of winter storage and my MTX when riding was cutting in and out. I have a IPhone using Bluetooth and it cuts out. So I ordered a 3.5mm jack to lightning adapter and plugged in that way thinking that something was wrong with my Bluetooth connection on the MTX. To no avail the problem persisted, after researching it, others have had the same problem, and some thought it was the vibration of the motor and highway affecting the iPhone making the iTunes skip, anyone else have this problem? I have a good phone mount on the handlebars with the MTX mounted on the bars, shouldn’t be a connection problem, has to be a vibration problem but not sure how to resolve it. All I know is its very frustrating to try an hear the music when it’s constantly cutting out. Thanks for the add!

Default Road Thunder on 21 FLHCS

I installed one on my 21 Heritage that has a windshield on all the time. It was easy to install (took about an hour with wire running for clean look). The sound quality is 8/10 for me. The bass and lows aren't the best, but for cruising around city and back roads, this thing is great! It does have the option to add woofers, I just never did. Highway is still clear and audio comes through at 70-80mph at max volume. Rugged design, waterproof, sleek look!

Downside: I've had mine for 3 years now and I'm pretty sure the speakers are starting to go. More than likely from playing at loud volumes. For the price, I thought they would last longer. Overall I would rate it a 7/10.

Check the quick disconnect. Mine went bad after a couple years so just cut it out and hard wired them together.
