looking for a real world review of either the Kuryakan or the MTX road thunder soundbar. U have a Road King and my windshield is on 90% of the time. And just not hip to the big round speakers I see on crash bars.
Put the kuryakyn on the wife's deluxe. Always has windshield on. It's pretty good I think. Plenty loud enough to hear at highway speeds. She runs stock pipes but also rides behind my bike but my pipes aren't real loud. Has usb charger built in so we mounted her phone to bars with a quick connect, keeps the phone charged that way.
When I was shopping (using Bluetooth headphones currently) one thing I didn’t like was no easy ability to turn down my racket when coming to a stop. Something to be said for red light, downshift, ease on front, rear brakes, make sure **** clown behind doesn’t plow into you, looking down to make sure your in neutral, then turn down racket. Just seems too much of a pain using the sound bars, but looking forward to actual reviews.
Gents, I've been looking at this sound bar for awhile and appreciate the real world reviews. Was about to pull the trigger and did a quick calculation my untapped amps/watts. I'm showing an average of 450 watts based off my stator's generation. Pretty easy to realize this 300 watt speaker blows that factoring what the bike draws to run etc. Anyone know if the 300w spec is factoring a draw from the USB charger? Anyone running it on a late 2000's Softail? Alot of vague information out there on this product so any info is appreciated!
I have the first generation. I like it. If I'm riding around the house, will use it, which is most of the time. If I'm on a long road trip, I use earphones. Just bought new handlebars and I'm on the fence of whether I'm reinstalling. Probably will, but don't want scratches all over the new ones.

hey steel horse I’ve been looking for a long time on what speakers to buy and i just haven’t been able to make the decision. Vance and Hines no windshield and don’t expect to hear it great on the highway but to hear it at 55 60 is important to me. I’ve been looking at your system for a while and the only reason i haven’t bitten is i don’t know where to mount the amp on my street bob. I’d rather not use my fork bag as it’s the only storage i have. Any ideas where to mount? I most likely want to get your premium system with the bigger amp. If i can come up with a good spot i will order it immediately!!
