Damn; you guys are making me kick myself. A vendor at J&P Cycles at bike week quoted me $700 installed and I thought that was crazy money. I guess I should'a jumped.
That was the KST Kustoms vendor. I paid $625 for the 14" Renegade bars installed on my '19 RGS. They didn't have to replace the brake or clutch lines, just the wire extension harness . He cut me some slack as a return customer. I believe I paid $675 on the '17 SGS, which was more time consuming.
I had it done during Biketoberfest, same vendor, same location.
I went ahead and pulled the trigger. I picked up our 07 from there today after it had some work done and dropped off the 09 for the bars which will go on next week. Final price was 933 for all braided cables, upper and lower, the wiring extension, the bars and the labor. Sounded like it was a good deal based on the responses. Looking forward to the first ride with those stock bars off of that thing. So weird feeling compared to the 07 with 14 inch apes. That thing turns like a piece of cake and the stock bars feels like it fights me to turn.
In speaking to my Independent service shop I normally use for all of our work I was given a price of 933.00 which includes the 14' bars, the cable/wiring kit and the labor to do the install on my Street Glide with ABS. Does that sound about right? I know people do it themselves but there is just a part of my that is fearful of the process of running all of the wires through the new bars, plus all of the messing with brake, clutch and ABS stuff concerns me a bit too.
Thanks everyone.
OP, I assume it is on the 2009 in your signature. If so that is a GREAT deal. If it was a Rushmore 2014 or newer that would be high as they are much easier.

Correct, it is on the 09. The 07 already had them on it when we bought it.

Yep; I couldn't remember the vendor, but you're right. I was looking at 12" bars on my '14 SGS and he said no extensions were necessary. Kicking myself now ...
I got a labor only price of 400.00 (Wired External) or 525.00 (wired Internal) on a 2012 FLHTK for the Khrome Werks 2 + 2 narrows from my local HD dealership. (Long Island)
That was including the plus 4" clutch cable. For that price I let them do it. Should have it back Monday or Tuesday.
i changed out my bars to 14" wild onz, It was a little difficult to pull the wires through those sharp angle bends since i didnt stagger the connections like i knew i should have. At one point i thought they were stuck permanently in there. A ton of WD40 and pulling as hard as i could finally got them through. I had many other obstacles along the way since it was my first time. You learn alot doing it ill say that, but honestly if you can get the bars and braided lines and everything done for that price id go for it. There was a few times i couldnt figure out why things werent working once i had it all put back together....dont let anyone tell you its easy, because it isnt. Doable yourself? Certainly just not easy.
