Handlebar install pricing
In speaking to my Independent service shop I normally use for all of our work I was given a price of 933.00 which includes the 14' bars, the cable/wiring kit and the labor to do the install on my Street Glide with ABS. Does that sound about right? I know people do it themselves but there is just a part of my that is fearful of the process of running all of the wires through the new bars, plus all of the messing with brake, clutch and ABS stuff concerns me a bit too.
Thanks everyone.

Sounds like a hell of a deal if you ask me.
I haven't seen a quote under $1000 before so either you are getting a really good deal on labor, or he found cheap parts, or he is really confident in getting it done quick with no headaches.
I did mine myself. I fully understand why they charge so much. It is not a simple process.
Remove fairing cap,
remove seat and tank
Remove radio, completely
There are just a lot of things in the way that you have to deal with just to get to the bars work. I would say jump on that deal if you have the scratch. What I saved on labor ended up going to more stuff like upgraded bushings, grips, mirrors, custom brake and clutch lines. I really didn't save any money. oops

I was quoted a price of between $600-$1200 by an indie. And that was labor only. On a bat wing FLHTK. I did it myself over a week in the winter. S-L-O-W-L-Y. And having the service manual helped. Along with YouTube.
I just couldn't see spending that kind of money for something I might have to swap back out if I don't like them. Once you do one, you'll be able to swap bars much faster in the future.

I was quoted nearly $1200 for 12" LA Choppers on my 2012 Ultra Limited. I wound up doing it myself for around $450. But I used the existing brake line. I wish I had gone 14".

This is a reputable guy in the area. We have 4 bikes in total and he has done the maintenance on all of them. This bike is new to us. No concern over whether I will like the bars or not as he currently has our 07 Street Glide there now getting some work done and we are just buying the same bars. The bars were already on the 07 SG when we bought it so I didn't do the work or pay to have it done on that one. From what I can tell the breakdown is 228.00 for the bars, 280.00 for the wiring/cables and 425 for the labor. I think I will be buying new grips too since they have to take them apart anyway I can get grips changed out at the same time for no additional labor.

If Brake and Cluch cables do not have to be changed: bars, wire extensions and maybe new bushings (which is recommended) I guessing is around $300. The job is time consuming but NOT DIFFICULT.
I just changed out the stock bars for the H-D reach bars on my '19 SGS. No Brake or Clutch cable changes were necessary. Did the swap in about 4-5 hours, taking my time. All wiring was simple plug ins that don't let you put things back in the wrong place. Because I added a WHIM and CB I even had to change out the switch pack controls on the right handlebar. I did watch some videos before doing the work. Mostly to learn how to get the complete Fairing off and then reinstalled and a few tricks about threadiong the wires through the bars.
Depending on your indy's hourly labor rate, that seems to be only a fair deal, again if no clutch or brake cable work is needed, but you could save yourself about $600 doing it yourself.
