Default Fairing mounting

Can I make a Harley fairing quick detachable like Dragonfly or Quadzilla. Can I get and mount a Dragonfly or Quadzilla inner fairing to mount onto a stock Harley outer. I have a chance to get a HD outer for cheap$$ and use it on a RoadKing (2003)

No, SOL would be if I bought the fairing already. Currently I'm even.

I just bought an older fairing locally to put on my 98' Road king. I think it's around a mid 80's model. It won't be quick disconnect, but it will come off fairly quick by removing 4 nuts. It attaches to the bolts where the quick disconnects mount to the front of the bike. I was looking for just such a thing but not wanting to spend $800 + for it. I'll let you know how it turns out.

You can't mount an aftermarket inner fairing to a stock HD outer. They all have their own unique mounting points.

Unless I've missed something, Dragonfly or Quadzilla don't even have a quick disconnectable set of brackets, they mount with bolts, like stock H-D.

That is not near as quick as the "True" quick disconnect detachable by: "Dead Center Cycles" which I have on my bike.

maybe you can rig a mounting system up for it. Then use the stock harley inner fairing for it. Put a radio in it and fill all the other holes or cover them up with something. I'm in the same boat as you. Want a fairing for the RK but don't want to spend $1200-$1500 on one. If I could find one cheap I'd try it, but thats me. How does a stock harley fairing mount to the bike? Keep us informed of your decision.

The one I bought, for my '98 Road King, was from an early 80's Touring bike. The brackets that came with it, will directly bolt up to my quick disconnect mounts for my road king. The holes ligned up like it was made for it. A few quick cuts with my dremel, and I'll have a quick disconnect made. I just need to do some body work on it and paint it to match. Other than that, it was probably the best $25 I spent!

so will a modern inner fairing fit on the classic fairings? I think it would rock to fill those extra holes with speakers!
