I lived in Pensacola for a few years while in the Navy an that summer sun is brutal an the down pours are extremely heavy so if they hold up to that they are pretty good. I don't freak out over detailing my bike....I just hit it with the detail spray once or twice a week an a good wash once a month or so.

Had my bike done, it makes washing it a lot easier. I also love the way the motor turned out

If you don't follow proper washing/drying techniques, a coating is not for you. Ive steered many customers away from coatings because of their lack of caring or upkeep of their vehicle. If a guy has a truck that he takes thru the woods hunting, no reason to coat it, its just going to get tore up and need to be polished again.
Im not here to sell anybody a coating, hell I don't sell anything anyway. Just relaying my experience dealing with them.
Sealants are a great choice and they are easy to work with. Wax, only for garage queens, to much dust and pollen where I live

i know this is old, but what kind of person do you steer away? What kind of up keep must be done to keep the coatings working as they should do.

I don't suggest coatings for people that don't follow proper washing/drying techniques, beat the hell out of their truck in the woods, stuff like that. Coatings will swirl, scratch, soto spend that kind of money just to run it through the woods, or run it thru the swirl o metic car wash, probably not a good idea.

As far as upkeep, wash and dry it properly. Depending where you live a deconstructions wash every so often. Some people use a topper on top of the coating. That can be applied once a month, this would be on daily drivers not necessarily a bike.

So just washing the bike a few times a year and a wax once a year no biggie for the coatings? I like the look of a freshly waxed bike but don’t keep them spotless by any means

No need to wax it, that's what the coating is for.

There are a lot of them. Just depends on how long you leave them on for.

Didn't leave 'em on for long. Just hated messing with it. Our club rode from Valdosta, GA to St. Augustine one year. Couldn't recognize the bikes or the riders once we arrived. Thank God for bandanas over the face.

Sorry for hijacking the thread.
