I install paint coatings a lot. I have a side gig detailing vehicles. Coatings are incredible with how long they last and the look but are not for everybody.
Prep is key with a coating lasting for years. With out proper prep coatings won't last like they should.
New or used vehicle should always be polished before applying a coating.
There are some coatings I would not install. I have a few that I stick with for customers and I have never had customer tell me afterwards they don't like the coating.
My Avalanche doesnt fit in the garage and sat outside for close to 4 yrs before the coating wore off in a few areas. It will be getting redone next week. My wife CTS has been coated since bought close to 2 yrs ago and water behavior is like day 1 on the paint. That coating should last way longer then 4yrs being kept in the garage.
No matter what a manufacture says, coatings are not scratch proof. They all will mar, some less likely then others
True ceramic takes heat, these so called ceramic paint coating are a fancy catchword play to sell a chemical product for much more than it's actually worth. You'd be better off with a good pro sealant & wax job.
It’s worthless....bike will never ever need it......just a cash maker like window etching at new car dealerships. New base clear coats are all you need.
Ill have to disagree. Paint coatings are light years ahead of any sealant or wax in terms of longevity, protection, and self cleaning abilities. Nothing sticks to a coating. Everything sticks to a wax.
Water angles are much higher with coatings compared to wax or sealants. Like I said before, coatings are not for everyone though.
Ive been doing this stuff for 15+ years, what is a pro sealant? Ive used the top sealants in the industry and Ive never heard of a "Pro Sealant. There are Pro Only coatings, but not sealants

That Eaglefan1 either knows his **** or is full of it....
I for one believe him, I read his posts always! And if I lived in Florida I would have him do my bike.
Not a paid spokesman...

HA! I just speak from experience and what I have worked with and witnessed first hand. There are a couple guys on here and on the road glide site that I have talked to about coatings and which ones I preferred. They ended up getting a coating installed on their bikes and love it.
If you don't follow proper washing/drying techniques, a coating is not for you. Ive steered many customers away from coatings because of their lack of caring or upkeep of their vehicle. If a guy has a truck that he takes thru the woods hunting, no reason to coat it, its just going to get tore up and need to be polished again.
Im not here to sell anybody a coating, hell I don't sell anything anyway. Just relaying my experience dealing with them.
Sealants are a great choice and they are easy to work with. Wax, only for garage queens, to much dust and pollen where I live
