Tariffs have nothing to do with it. New owners took over in February. Since then, prices have nearly doubled.
I had no idea their prices had shot up like that. I got a Reaper from them less than a year ago for $100 shipped and I think it was only discounted 5% or something like that. The same shield right now is $160...almost double.
I sent them an e-mail expressing my concerns about the recent pricing increase and the trouble I had with their web site, but have not received any response.
The only good thing I can really say about my LRS recurve is that it works as advertised. I do not have the wind buffeting problems I had before.
However, with my personal experience, it is just too thin and was lose and rattled and I could not get it sandwiched tight between the fairings until I put rubber trim on both fairing edges. And, I recently discovered that rain droplets collect on the curve right at eye level causing me to have to look over or under, not optimal while dealing with rain in traffic.

Does the freedom shield give you any issues being thicker? Does your fairing seal back up or does it gap? I'm in the market for a windshield myself. Wife's saying her head bobbles around back there. I've got the stock one on there now.

I put a FS on my 18 FLHXS. FS claims it's 30% thicker than OE, and I'd guess that's about right. There is a slight gap along the first 1.5" of the rubber seal. Starts out about .0781" near the shield, and tapers off to zero. Honestly, I don't recall if the gap was there with the OE shield. Bike has been washed several times with no ill effects.
Just washed it yesterday. Pollen has been bad around here lately, and it really shows on black.
The Freedom shield fit in my fairing OK, I just felt like there was not as much recurve at the top of the windshield, and that was the reason I think I got more air from the 9" Freedom shield than I did with the 8" LRS. I personally think the LRS shield is a better shield than the Freedom, and I know for me the LRS Ultra Elite moves the air up over my wife better. But again this is just my opinion. The LRS shields are way to pricey anymore to have more than one. I used to have 2-3 of them, but unless they go back to reality on their pricing that won't be happening at my house.
in comparison, lrs pricing is not out of line with any other windshield mfg. we've just gotten spoiled with their really cheap prices. but the flip side is, that with the increase in pricing, they are (supposed to be) making their shields out of higher quality materials.

I purchased a shield 5 days ago from them. Aside from my paypal confirmation I've received nothing from them. At the very least I'd expect some sort of thank you for your purchase email etc.......
