A big congratulations on the boy ( now he's a man for sure ) graduating from basic ... I did the same thing, about 50 years ago :>)
Thats exactly what i told him. I told him now you are a Man and how proud i was. I actually graduated basic at Ft Leonardwood in 1987 and was really Proud to see my youngest to do the same thing. My middle boy also graduated from there in 2011..Thank you and Appreciate your service Brother
Check your primary chain adjuster mine over tighten the primary chain and I believe thats what took out my main bearing like yours my first indication was my drive belt was rest tight. Adjuster pulled everything forward and took out bearing

I changed all that last summer to a Baker Compensator and a Baker Attitude chain adjuster. Before i changed those though my chain was so tight from the automatic adjuster. Im sure my bearings problem came from before the Baker Comp/ Adjuster change but didnt notice anything leaking until after this recent trip. Like you i also think the automatic adjuster caused most if not all of the issues i have. My gf did notice some weird vibration on passenger floorboards during our trip so i bet what she was feeling was the bad bearings.

Ordered bearings so gotta wait until they arrive Friday before i can put it all back together. When you changed yours did you replace with the 8967 double row bearing or the revised 8967A single row bearing which looks to have 11 bigger bearings but only single row?

Mine is a 2010 and it had the double row and thats what I put in each time I went in there. Be careful when you slide the trans back in I damaged the bearing retainer on the inner bearing on the output shaft. Thats why I told you about removing that race I missed it the first time and couldnt figure out why it wouldnt pull back in all the way so I took it back apart and you know every time you do that you need a new bearing

When installing the output shaft seal us a piece of 1 pvc to set the seal in place after you reinstall the trans. And make sure you tape the splines on the input shaft
