I noticed two items that are in the HD online store.

p/n 69200865 which is a cable and 7pin plug to allow Boom Output to be installed into tourpak. Is this what you are using? Would I need this if I want to hide all wiring?

ALSO

p/n 69200907 an auxiliary 3.5 Audio input wire inside my juke box. Is there a bluetooth item I can plug into that which will allow bluetooth to my Cardo Edge?

Please have a look at those two items when you have a moment. If you want me to stop asking, just say the word. Cheers.

Yes on the first item (69200865) That's the item to which I linked several responses ago. You can extend an audio headset jack to wherever you want it on your motorcycle. I think it'll reach the tourpac.

No on the second item (69200907). That's an audio INPUT cable to connect an audio source (Juke Box, they call it) to your radio. I don't believe your GTS BoomBox even has an audio input jack on it. This will not help you.

TOHOG...Without re-reading everything, I believe you currently have a WHIM installed. If that's the case, then just so you are aware, the 69200865 harness will plug into the same connector (behind your fairing) that your WHIM is plugged into. You will have to unplug your WHIM rendering it unusable. This means you will not be able to pick & choose if you want to use your Sena or Cardo.

I know it's not the cleanest setup but I'd go with the adapter (plugged into your console) & bluetooth transmitter that Ken recommended. This way you can use your Cardo for what you want/need, and then easily unplug if you want to use your WHIM/Sena setup. Unless of course you have no further need to use the WHIM/Sena, then the Freewire would be the answer.

Lefty and Ken

Yes I have a WHIM connected.
I have ordered the item Ken found that plugs into my console (will arrive in a week or so).
Before disconnecting my WHIM and ordering the extended headset jack I will try the item ordered into the console and if that works for me and I later want to "hide" it I will purchase the extension.

Now ONE THING (haha) I am not clear on is this:
Is the console plug just an adaptor and I require another item that is a bluetooth transmitter? Or, will this 7pin plug itself send Boom Audio to the PackTalk?
If I need a BT transmitter in addition, could either of you recommend one?

Thanks once again

Steve (trying out the new EDGE set tomorrow and hoping it is an improvement over the SENA vis-a-vis wind noise.

The console plug is just an adapter. You will need a Bluetooth transmitter to plug into it as well.

I believe
this this
is the one you referenced the other day on Amazon. It should work.

OK Lefty

So I will order the BT transmitter from Amazon. I guess it will plug into the adaptor when I get that delivered. Looks like I will have two gadgets plugged into my console. I won't like that but if it works I will add the extended headset jack I guess. A lot cheaper than the Freewire and not much of an investment should I decide to add these Freewire later.

So now I will just have to wait for these items to arrive.

I'm getting close I think.

I'm not sure what you ordered, but if its the adapter, it is simply an adapter. It adapts from the 7-pin Harley jack to an 1/8" audio jack into which an FM transmitter, Bluetooth transmitter, or the Sena FREEWIRE can be plugged so all of wired headset audio goes to whichever device you choose and then to your Cardo.

I also have a WHIM . . . I disconnected it almost 3 years ago. Unless you use a Harley-branded Sena wireless headset, it's useless.

DWKen has it nailed. I have been using that arrangement for years with my 2012 CVO and now 2021 ultra limited. I just changed from Senas (non-HD branded) to Cardo Edge. It seems the Cardo products are MUCH more reliable for rider to rider pairing and comms than what I had with the Sena products. For my adapter (from bike connection to bluetooth), I used a Sena SM10, which is basically two Freewires in one package. The SM10 is Bluetooth 2.2 and no longer available. There are more modern bluetooth adapters out there as DWKen noted. I have the jumper hack to get carplay and also connect my iphone to the boom via USB to lightning connector. This keeps my phone constantly charged and I get everything out of carplay possible. I have also made up a separable connection between the bike's otherwise unused CB connector and my Roadtech XM radio so I can add or remove the ram mount XM as I desire. This required visiting the dealer to program the Boom to accept the Aux connection.

Thanks, DWKen for offering good options to go Whim free and get all that we should from the boom system to non-HD branded wireless headsets, in stereo.

Current status Aug 8, 2022

GTS latest update
WHIM installed
Flashed Mic on
Packtalk EDGE, latest update
iPhone XR latest update
DIN 7 PIN to 3.5mm female adapter
Bluetooth Transmitter/Receiver

PT paired to Bluetooth sender which is plugged into console.
iPhone plugged into USB from GTS, not bluetooth connected to Boom or Packtalk
Results:
Both iPhone audio and GTS audio available in stereo with good volume and clarity,
It seems that if I first pair PT EDGE to BT transmitter, plug in phone to USB, ALL functions are working (audio in audio out) wirelessly. Seems also I can remove or connect the iPhone and the bluetooth audio to the GTS still functions properly (as with old HD Sena 20S EVO units.

While leading a ride yesterday I found with the above setup I could also use DMC to easily pair with another rider.

ONLY BUMMER ..... The particular bluetooth TR RX unit only lasted for about 2.5 hours in the hot sun or it is just a cheap/weak unit.
When I ride again this week I will try with another Bluetooth sender to see if it is any better. In anticipation of this working regularly I have ordered a Sena Freeware and will order the HD cable which I will plug into the WHIM connector 'under the hood'.

Hardest part (aside from $$), is figuring out when the bluetooth adaptor is actually paired to the PT-EDGE

Now it is finally clear to me that I can get all GTS audio in and out to Cardo units. If I want to also get CarPlay info it must be via USB to GTS and NOT BLUETOOTH to GTS.

Was yesterday luck? Can I repeat?

Thanks everyone for helping me to get this far.

I am curious what everyone is using for the Boom to bluetooth TX adapter? I just installed an AirFly Duo through Amazon (~$50). It seems to be working ok but had some challenges to get it to pair with two headsets. I believe the Sena SM10 will work and may try that if I have reliability issues with the AirFly.
