My riding style must be different than everyone else's. I couldn't care less about anything over 3500rpm on my '07. I like to cruise at about 2100-2300 rpm. If I'm cruising at 2500rpm, I'll roll on a little throttle and upshift. Not sure I've ever run over 4000 rpm except for the dyno at Jamie's.

I want the most bottom end available. I'd love to cruise at 1900 - 2000rpm. Are cams ever going to be made specifically for the 2007 motor? Or aren't there any optimizations that can be made for a 96" stroked motor vs an 88?
Good point. I'm not sure why anyone on a Harley get's too concerned about 5k RPM and how any cams perform.
Obviously, you aren't riding your bike hard enough. 5k is a long way from the rev limiter, especially on a 88/95. They are set at 5800 stock and get bumped up to 6200 with a Stage I. Anybody know what it is for a 96"?

There are four cams that supossedly fall into the category of torque cams. The two Andrews, HQ and Crane 6000 (the old numbers was 300.) Of these four the two Nightrider recomends are the Crane and Andrews 26. I have been riding this year with a Crane 6000 in my '07 Ultra and am very pleased with the performance overall. I am quite surprised in the top end since installing the ThunderMax and putting the stock 2-2 head pipes back on with my Supertrapp megaphone slip-ons with 16 discs left and 20-discs right.
I believe the andrews would both be easier to tune since they have less duration and overlap than the crane and especially the HQ. The HQ would more than likley come out on top on the top end though. But, in the end I am a lot like you with this bike--I want power down low. The Crane has power starting 2,000 RPM and feels strong there. I pulled a pretty good hill coming back from Bethlehem, PA at 2200 RPM with the OL on the back and we are both well fed if you know what I mean. I would not hesitate using the 21-26-or Crane, but for now see absolutly no reason to make any changes, this bike is real real smooth and quiet.

I installed 21s in my stock 88. Very good pulling power -- I can operate in 5th at 45 mph on the level and climb on a hill starting at about 50. It's a pleasure to operate on backroads at 50-60 and it sails along strongly at 75 with two up and luggage. I've ridden a stock '07 96 TC and it doesn't have the strong low end that the 88 does with the 21s. Idle is rougher than stock and engine vibrates more until you're up above idle. Exhaust is also punchier given that the cams create more cranking pressure. Occasionally it balks on starts due to the pressure, but usually starts right up with no problem. The 26s will move the torque curve up higher with less bottom end torque than the 21, but they are probably good all-around cams.
