Default Reinhart pipes need feed back

My dealer has these pipes on sale and I have a set on one of my bikes and love the sound, I never heard them on a dresser, My question is not to sound dumb, but are they loud enough that you cant enjoy your radio anymore, I really do not like the sound of the stock pipes, thought it would grow on me but I still hate it.. so do I have to live with stock sound and enjoy the radio or can you enjoy both with the reinharts.....

Ya know.. being the audio nut that I am.. I'd go for one or the other. If I had a glide with tunes I'd have bone stock quiet ontop of quiet exhaust and enjoy the tunes. But that's me.

I've got softail rineharts, which are a different animal. But they are LOUD.. and that's with the baffles. I find them to be louder than Vance and Hines pipes of similar types. I'm actually going to install Bub's other baffle for these pipes to quiet them down a bit.

My opinion, enjoy the tunes and you won't worry about the exhaust sound at all if you've got your favorite tunes going.
Hope it helps.

My opinion, there's no reason you can't hear your tunes and have loud pipes. I recently put two sets of Hogtunes speakers in my ultra. I'm running stock pipes with punched out baffles, soon to go to SEII's. I find the hogtunes will more than cover the pipes and most of the time I can't play them even close to wide open cause they are too loud. At the same time if I want to make the pipes bark to let someone know I'm there, I have that option and it doesn't interfere with my music.

I have them on my 05 Ultra, I have switched to the quiet baffle and sometimes I think it could be a little louder but also wanted the slight increase in back pressure. I think there a good compromise and the were also what i wanted. The fact that they had the O2 sensore port was also a selling feature for me and lowed my to dail the bike in nicely.

I have an 01 glide and put the reinhart pipes on. They were too loud with the baffles that came with them. Not overall but resonating in my head. I put the quiet balffles in and they are much better. The stereo is having trouble competing though. I have already changed the speakers out and am thinking about a biketronics change over to get a few more decibels with a different system. Mike

The new 06 radio sounds great and it is loud, I just don't want to spend 1500 for pipes and found out you cant hear the stereo anymore. I must be getting old lol........

A couple weeks ago I ordered a 06 Street Glide. Due mid Jan. deal includes 95ci Stage II, Power Commander, and Rinehart True Duals. I don't know what baffels come stock, but I guess the "quiet" or touring baffels are what I would like. I want the look and think from what I have read it will be something that makes me happy. Expensive, yes but compared to the other 24,000 I will spend to get it out the door I don't think $700 is that far out of the park.

As a side note, I ordered J&M cord (MA-38 I think...not here yet) which splices into the fairing speaker wires and give the J&M speakers in the helmet a connection.$49.00 is also not cheap but better than the 1,000.00 it would take to add the intercom system and other parts needed to make helmet speakers work. Just another option.

Back to the pipes, buy what you like the looks and sound of. Otherwise, just dump 1/3 the total cost and get a Suzuki-Kaw-Honda-Yam-what ever if HP & speed are important. Your dream, your money, your ride. Just do it.

OK, I have many friends with Rinehart True Duals on baggers. You can hear your radio just fine. Remember, most of the sound goes straight behind you (maybe the person behind you won't be able to hear his radio). The Rinharts with the stock baffles (not the quiet ones) aren't that loud on the highway but can get there if you are really getting on it through the gears.

Go with the Rineharts with the stock baffles and set off a few car alarms.
