Default iPod interface

I recently picked up a gently used '12 Ultra Limited as a second bike since the CVO repairs will take most of the summer. Back when I had the '09 I sprang for the Boom iPod interface and saddlebag storage. It worked great but it went with the bike when it sold. Is there nothing else available now that does the same thing? I don't really want to plunk down all that money again if there is another option. Thought about just using the AUX input but then no charge or control of the iPod. Figured in 10 years there would be another option. Guess I have taken for granted how easy this has been since the Rushmores came along.

I used the unit from On the Move Tech and works great. Has come down in price since I installed a couple years ago

Damn, that's less than half the price I paid a few years back!! I paid $225.00 from this exact company!

Is your ipod an older one, does it have bluetooth capability? If so, I use a $20 FM bluetooth transmitter plugged into the lighter port of my '11 classic for streaming music from my phone. It had a double sided tape base with a magnet to mount the controller.....the bay has 'em. my aux jack is sketchy too so this was the best option without changing the radio. I mounted it on the inside of the fairing...i do have to reach over the controls if i want to skip a song but it's not too bad considering...plus it got rained on pretty good on the way up to and returning from Laconia and i havent had any issues with it....gets the job done for under $20!

Thanks for sharing this. I have the Harley iPod setup on my 11 (came with the bike when I got it in '16) but the cables are in rough shape and it occasionally does weird stuff that appears to be brief disconnections. I had looked for replacement cables in the past but they are hard to find and expensive so just been dealing with it.

This whole setup is cheaper than the cables I was looking at.

And it is a great setup. I paid almost 3 times that price 3 years ago. It has worked for me trouble free these 3 years!

Sorry for the delay in responding, i was out of town. No this works as an FM receiver of your bluetooth device (phone or ipod). The unit gets set to whatever frequency you want. Best to pick a frequency that isn't being used by a radio station. Mine is at 87.9 FM. Then tune your radio to that frequency and whatever signal that is being sent to the unit is then played through your sound system...its basically setting up a radio station on your bike that your factory system picks up. no aux jack needed. You do have to power the unit up with the cigarette lighter port on the bike or some other way if you don't have one...like i said its a setup that works pretty good for me for $20.
