Using oil
I only mention this as it happened to my 2014.
I think a bad tune (lean) caused mine. It seemed to be running fine too, but losing a quart too often.
After getting the 10K done and never losing oil (has 27k now) , took a Tenn/NC and a Colorado Trip. During that, had to add 3 quarts. Not leaking, so must be burning. They found it running lean and plugs had crap all over it. The Tech put it on the tester and failed compression in the front cylinder. I had worried I had a piston/ring problem. Sure enough, they pulled the front head and found the cylinder wallowed out in the middle. So it was burning off at the top. They replaced Piston/Flywheel,front jug, oil assy/pump, etc under ESP ($3500 cost me $100).

I have a few questions for you. One, is it over 80 degrees most of the time your riding?. What weight oil are you using?. Do you check you oil when it's hot, or cold?. The manual says you can use 20/50 wt most of the time, but recommends a 60 weight when the bike is ridden in very hot climates, like over 80. I guess they know 20/50 will be like water if ridden in 100 degree temps. I check/ set my oil level after a ride with the motor at operating temp. The level should be a lines width below the full line. 70k miles on my bike, and there's no drips from the air filter. I wouldn't worry about your oil usage at this point.,,,
My old mans 2007 103 CVO did this. Like most people he would top up the engine oil to about 3/4 up the safe zone, it used about 1/2 a quart every 1-2000miles. Oil would come out the vent tubes into the intake as well. Never enough to drip but enough to be wet. I told him to stop topping it off and see what happens, it would “use” oil until about 1/4 of the way up the safe zone on the dipstick then stop. Never went below that point. He still puts on many miles and it never goes below that point. All engines seem to have an area they are “comfortable” at. I’m not sure what causes it or why, might be oil pressure related.
You could try that, as long as you check it often and it’s in the safe zone and not starving of oil it should be fine. Next options are most definitely a leak down test and even a poor mans inspection of the pistons(bring each cylinder to TDC and look through the spark plug holes with a light) that should be able to tell you if you have any bad detonation/lean issues that could cause it to wear enough that it’s burning it. Plug colour/condition can tell you a lot, but it can also drastically change depending on riding conditions just prior to checking them. Checking your primary is a very good idea too, it’s gotta go somewhere.

Don`t jump off the building just because it uses a half quart every 1,000 miles...
Maybe you are topping it off a bit too much worrying about the level?
Sometimes guys get too meticulous about the oil level, and they try to keep it at a certain level, but if that level is too high for that particular bike, it will just throw it out the breather.
You could always have a shop perform a leak down test if you prefer not to buy the tool ( I recommend you don`t buy an el cheapo leak down tester).
