Default windshield seal?

I recently installed a Freedom shield on my '09 Ultra which is a little thicker than the HD windsplitters. Now it seems there is enough of a gap to allow bugs and grime to slip into it when I clean the shield. Its all installed properly and torqued to specs. yet the gap remains. Without getting a toothbrush out to clean the slot out, I figured there must be a seal or gasket that will fill the small gap to keep the crud out. Anyone?

thanks

Default Freedom Shields

I bought a freedom shield for my road glide and had the same gap at the bottom. I took some butylene windshield installation strips and put them on the bike and then installed the w/s. Worked great and no bugs or water come through.
Might send it back if you haven't taken the plastic wrap off and get them to send you one that has the proper curve at the bottom. If not then the butylene tape will work for sure.

I installed a LRS and had enough of a gap that the windshield rattled. I put a piece of inner fairing trim seal p/n 58311-96 across the top of the inner fairing lip. This rubber strip works great because it is in a U shape that fits the plastic edge perfectly and has an adhesive strip on the inside that keeps it in place when you remove and put on the windshield and faring.

I bought a freedom shield and thought the same about the gap.
I then picked up HD windshield bags (triple compartment for glasses, etc) low and behold, it came with single side adhesive foam to fill that gap.
Hit a hardware store, pickup a few feet of foam and seal it yourself.
That area is not water tight from the factory, but sealing that gap is piece of mind.

Before you tighten the screws down, pull out on the top of the windshield and while pulling out with your other hand snug down a couple of the outside screws.
