Default Lowering Ultra

Has anyone used the brackets to lower the shocks on their bikes? If so how well did it work, and did you like it? Does it just lower the seating position, or does it let your floorboards be lower to the ground? I;m always scraping my floorboards now so I don't want them any lower, but I sure would like to be able to flat foot while seated. Any help is appreciated.

The easiest route is 12" shocks just like on a low model. Yes you will scrape floor boards sooner anytime you lower the bike. Have you tried a street glide seat they will sit you lower without lowering the bike. If that works and you don't need the passenger comfort of a touring seat you got your answer or send your seat to mean city cycles to lower your seat.

I used brackets to drop it an inch. Helped flat foot it. Never had problems with boards. My jiffy stand hits before the boards do.

I've put the Street Glide seat on and I have a quick disconnect tour pack. I can flat foot it now, but I use an air ride seat pad on longer rides and that raises me up a couple inches. I do a lot of mountain riding, "Snake", Dragon" and others and I keep scraping my right floorboard. I'm afraid it's going to high side me.

I put 11” coil over Pro Action shocks and a Street Glide seat. I am now bent at the knee with my feet on the ground. Narrowing the nose on your stock seat would help. Good luck on your quest!

What size shocks are you running now to be scraping your floor boards. Is your bike a Ultra or Ultra low.

Seems you have some conflicting things going on here! Anything you do that lowers your bike will make scraping worst, so it looks to me that you should be seeking ways to improve your ground clearance, not lower it. I will also say that flat-footing is over-rated, so set that aside and ride. I've been riding Glides for almost 30 years and never been able to flat-foot, always ridden with stock height suspension.

Check the length of your shocks and if they are the shorter ones then replace them with stock height, which will improve ground clearance. Consider an aftermarket touring seat, or a seat customising shop, to maintain your comfort, but also to reduce seat height. There are aftermarket footboards which may improve cornering clearance. To improve security when stationary consider getting thick-soled boots, to give you a little extra leg reach.
